Connecticut based esthetician LaTonya Leach (Tony) has been surrounded by beauty her entire life. As she watched her mother indulge in a daily beauty routine in the bathroom mirror, Tony prided herself whenever she said, "Mommy you look so pretty". While her mother responded, "Thank you baby but true beauty is within". Years passed and Tony never thought about skincare until she had her first-born daughter. Acne was her source of teenage growing pains. Tony never had problematic skin, so she was at a loss attempting to help her baby girl. Topicals and doctor appointments were extremely disappointing. While entering motherhood for the second time, Tony was employed with an award-winning dermatologist in NYC who suggested she become an esthetician. Not only was that not the career path she was on, but she had no idea what an esthetician was.

Tony attended Atelier Esthetique Institute of Esthetics in her hometown New York City in 2019 and was quickly hired with the internationally recognized FaceGym. Her talents grew to include non-invasive muscle manipulation and facial massage. Tony then relocated with her family to Connecticut during the Covid-19 pandemic and experienced a devasting loss of her best friend, long time partner and husband of 14 years, her boo Paul. Life as an esthetician came to a complete standstill. It no longer mattered that she worked with celebrity clientele on a daily bases. Esthetics was the least thing on her agenda.

Paul and Tony had a unique relationship," I got your back babe" was their pledge to one another. Hearing her husband's evening whispers and long deliberation Tony decided to take a plunge and open The MochaButterfly Lab.
